About Me

Vicks Nicholson
I have recently left my job and the London life after deciding that new challenges and adventures were on the cards, it was time for a change, and my increasing wanderlust needed satisfying.. I heard about The Everest Test through a friend, and was lucky enough to be given a place to join the expedition that week. What better way to begin this new phase of life? The Everest Test 2009 is an attempt to set a new record for the highest game of field sport ever played, a competitive Twenty20 cricket match at 5,165m on the Gorak Shep plateau near base camp on Mt Everest. The record attempt also aims to raise £250,000 for charity. This blog aims to document some of the challenges of the expedition, the trials and tribulations of the coming months as 47 of us prepare for take off in April 2009..
